Taking care of your skin is vital to fight the signs of ageing and look younger. But as much as its important to chose the right skincare for your skin type, its equally important to take care of your skin from the inside.

No matter how much you try to conceal, but your lifestyle definitely shows up on your skin somehow.

Here are 9 tips that will help make your skin glow from inside and give you lasting results.

1. Drink a lot of water

I cant stress enough on drinking more water and keeping yourself hydrated.
Its not only good for your overall health but also helps to keep your skin radiant, healthy and younger-looking.

Like all the other cells of the body, even skin cells are made up of water and will certainly function better if are well hydrated.

Whereas dehydration can leave your skin dry, itchy and tight.

So, drink sufficient amount of water if you want to see the visible difference in your skin health.

2. Reduce your caffeine intake

A self confessed coffee addict myself, I can’t deny that a cup of hot coffee is definitely a delight, especially in the early morning.

But mind it, just like sodium and alcohol; caffeine also dehydrates our body and leads to inflammation and collagen loss, resulting in premature ageing.

And to top it all, if you have excess amount of caffeine in your system, it might constrict your blood vessels, stopping it from pumping the right sufficient amount of nutrients and antioxidants required for glowing skin, reducing the production of collagen.

3. Load up on vitamin C rich foods

Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is an essential nutrient required for the body. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps maintain scar tissues, cartilage and even collagen. Therefore it helps reduce wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of ageing.

Elastin is a compound present in our bodies that strengthens, protects and heals the skin cells keeping the skin healthy and glowing. The formation of elastin depends upon the vitamin C levels of our bodies. Therefore eat those vitamin C rich foods like citrus fruits, broccoli, papaya, strawberries etc. and get more plump and healthy skin.

4. Take the benefits of green juice

Well, whatever you put in your body is definitely going to show up on your skin. Right? So might as well trade those unhealthy sodas with nutritional green juices from all natural fruits and vegetables that will help get you the natural glow that you are after.

Juice those vegetables and fruits to get all their nutrients and also flush out unwanted toxins improving quality and appearance of your skin.

Some of the vegetables and fruits you can juice together for a healthy glowing skin-
Cucumbers- the high antioxidants, vitamins and minerals levels of cucumbers help to boost hydration, clam inflammation and give you a healthy skin from within.
Kale-High in vitamin K, kale juice is great for reducing dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles and helps enhance skin health.

Carrots- Potassium in carrots help to increase the growth of new skin cells, maintain skin elasticity, preventing wrinkles, scars and dark spots.

Apples-Apple juice is one juice I have been asking my clients to have all along to fight pigmentation and dark spots. Its rich in vitamin c and hence keeps the outer layer of the skin healthy and glowing.

Tomatoes-Loaded with vital nutrients like vitamin A, K, B2,B3,B5,B6 and minerals like magnesium, iron and phosphorus, tomato juice surely is great for skin and hair health.
Pomegranate- Pomegranates have the ability to purify blood and help in cell renewal that makes it nourishing and ant ageing for the skin.

Beetroot- Beetroot helps to purify blood and eliminate toxins from the body. It has a significant amount of vitamin c that helps in reducing pigmentation and dark spots.
Celery-Celery is rich in vitamin K and C thereby providing anti ageing benefits for the skin. Drinking celery juice also helps restore hydration that helps improve the skin health.

5. Have omega rich foods

Eating more foods packed with omega 3 fatty acids like salmon, walnuts and flaxseeds, help support your skin structure and play a vital role in maintaining healthy skin.
They help to reduce the fine lines and wrinkles by helping the skin to restore its collagen levels. These fatty acids also work as a seal to lock in the moisture of the skin keeping it healthy and nourished.

Omegas 3s also have powerful anti-inflammatory properties that help to protect the skin against sun induced damage and harmful free radicals.

6. Don’t miss your daily serving of antioxidants

Antioxidants are plant-derived compounds that provide protection to our cells by reducing the damage caused to them by free radicals.

Some of the foods with highest antioxidant contents are-blueberries, Artichokes,
goji berries, cranberries, strawberries, kidney beans and beets.

These antioxidants provide amazing package of nutrients, vitamins and minerals that elevate the skin health and fight signs of ageing.

7. Quit sugar

Keep your sweet tooth in check if you want to have great skin. Being pro-inflammatory in nature, processed sugar leads to signs of premature ageing. It also messes up with the hormonal balance and aggravates acne and rosacea.

8. Get some quality sleep

Just so you should know Beauty sleep is a real thing. Putting it down scientifically, the skins ability to hold water intensifies with sleep helping it appear soft and supple. Sleep also encourages collagen that is the main ingredient to have youthful skin.
So, dont worry if you cant get up and apply that nourishing mask, just sleep and you are making your skin glow ☺

Skin is the largest organ of your body, so might as well take care of it, so while you invest in good skincare make sure you take care of your skin from inside too.
